In the picturesque Brazilian wine region of Pinto Bandeira, located in the municipality of Rio Grande do Sul, two identical chalets provide a relaxing retreat in the middle of nature. Designed by talented Brazilian architect Ramoni Balestro, La Pinta Chalets offer a comfortable living experience that exists in harmony with the beautiful natural landscapes that surround it.
The chalets feature striking wooden A-frame structures, giving them the appearance and ambiance of cozy cabins in the woods. The shape of the structures serves to frame the natural exterior landscape, allowing for views of a bustling river and vibrant green forestry. Additionally, each chalet includes a 20 square meter (215 sq ft) outdoor garden with seating and a campfire pit, offering a perfect setting to enjoy cool summer nights and gaze at the pristine stars with friends and family.
Spanning a 90 square meter (969 sq ft) interior floorplan, the chalets are constructed using reforested Pinus timber, a light and natural material that enhances the relaxing, serene, and comfortable feel of the space. The ground floor is equipped with luxurious features, including a spa with hydromassage, an open living area with a fireplace and comfortable armchairs, a sleek modern kitchen, and a TV room with a sofa-bed. These features allow for a lavish contemporary lifestyle while maintaining a connection with the natural world.
An elegant staircase leads to the elevated mezzanine level, which comprises an open-plan bedroom, bathroom, and spacious balcony that overlooks the vast tree line. The chalets are also outfitted with sliding doors that can fully open, facilitating excellent air flow and contributing to the expansive, natural feeling of the space. Furthermore, a window is installed on the roof slope, functioning similarly to a skylight and allowing natural sunlight to flood the interior space.
The design of the chalets was influenced by the natural landscape, as evidenced by the two facades that offer unique viewpoints of the stunning country estate on which they stand. The main facade provides a complete view of the outdoor space, including small crops, a vineyard, and the firepit. On the other hand, the other facade faces east and overlooks the river, offering a unique and beautiful vantage point from which to appreciate and reflect upon the natural landscape.
